Diseases Explained™ is available in more than 60 countries.

 

Diseases Explained is produced by Livingstone Medical. An abbreviated line was first published in 1996 before launching the series formally in 1999 at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

In 2000 the publishing operation moved to Ohio, to partner with U.S. publishers LEXI-COMP, and began its association with Case Western University Reserve Teaching Hospital, Department of Family Medicine.

In 2001 the series was approved by the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation (AAFPF).

In 2002 the series won awards from the Health Improvement Institute.

In 2003 the reference book ‘A PATIENT GUIDE TO DISEASES AND CONDITIONS’ was published.

In 2008 the publishing operation returned to the UK, and in 2009 began a new association with the Family Doctor Association.
