ABOUT US

Livingstone Medical has been researching the impact of consumer psychology and patient behaviour on

information design, health literacy - alongside the growth of digital media - for over three decades.

This research later formed the basis for the UK Health Design & Technology Institute's (HDTI)

inaugural  MA in Health Communication Design (HCD).

It also lead to the creation of  Diseases Explained, an evidence based health information series

created specifically for patients and consumers.  The family reference book

'A Patient Guide To Diseases and Conditions' was first published in 2003.

We originally worked in partnership with Medical  Science  Research (MSR) here in the UK - then later

with the Department of Family Practice at Case Western University Teaching Hospital (CWU) in the USA.

Our work has been approved by the American Academy of Family Physician's Foundation (AAFPF),

and certified in the UK by the Royal Society for Public Health for the Department of Health's

NHS Information Standard - and endorsed by the Family Doctor Association  (FDA).

The company also provides Information Design training support to the NHS,  Public Health Agencies,

Pharmaceutical Companies, Clinical Laboratories and Patient Support Organisations.
